My Pirahna

As you can tell this more than adorable piranha loves books. In fact I first saw him on the cover of a children's book, and from the first moment I knew he would swim out of that book. He was carefully hand sewn from quality olive wool/rayon felt and hand-dyed orange wool felt. His sharp little white teeth are even hand sewn from wool felt. His gill flaps and fins are detailed with embroidery. The piranha is 8 inches long from teeth to tip of tail. black onyx beads are used for the eyes. Stuffed with plastic pellets and fiberfill.

This is a red-bellied piranha. It's scientific name is Pygocentrus natterer. Red-bellied piranhas have a reddish tinge to the belly when fully grown, although juveniles are a silver color with darker spots. They grow to a maximum length of 13 inches. The female has a slightly deeper color of red on her belly.

$65. Check it out on Etsy.
